Keeping up to date on the exciting world of pool player championships can be challenging at the best of times. The APA (American Poolplayers Association) is the governing body of amateur pool in the USA and have details on many of the pool player pro's as well as running tournaments a few times per year for amateur players. The APA held the U.S. Amateur Championship in November in Altanta, GA and next year are holding the APA National Singles Championships in April in Las Vegas, NV. This April event consists of two singles competitions; 8-Ball Classic and 9-Ball Shootout.

Eligibility for these pool championships is for APA members who are currently playing on an active 8-Ball or 9-Ball team, and have attained at least ten League match scores during the past two years in their respective formats.
