Online vs Cyber Pool Games E-mail

What is the difference between a cyber pool game and an online pool game?

I've been wandering around the internet looking at the naming of different pool games, trying to get to the bottom of the reason why some people name their games "cyber" as opposed to "online".

Cyber is defined in Wikipedia as used in names coined for "electronic" or computer-related counterparts of a pre-existing product or service. Generally people will use "e-", "cyber-" or "virtual". We'll add "online" to that list as well.

Because of this it can become confusing when

different websites decide to name their games with different terms.

Realistically you can interchange cyber, e-, virtual and online on the front of whatever product it is that you have on the Internet to attempt to define it as something which is on the Internet compared to playing in a real game (e.g. at a pool hall). This type of distinction is needed regularly when the game is played online as well as in the real world (like pool is) which is why you will often see our site referring to "land-based pool".

At one stage using a phrase like "pool hall" would mean the physical version of the pool game however that is just not the case now as it has become standard practice to call an online pool website a "pool hall" as well.

Generally there is no better term to be using when you are searching for a new online pool game to play however you may want to remember that different websites use different terminology and try searching for some of the ones which you do not usually use, like cyber pool, e-pool or virtual pool.
